#thisgradschool - What does that mean?

We have been using the above hashtag for a while now and it worth exploring what that means. For us, it means that our graduate coursework is a fantastic EXPERIENCE. Instead of spending the day inside and discussing the various components of snow science this week's class went to the top of nearby Tamarack Resort. One example of how our graduate classes are unique.

The top of the chair lift summits at 7,700 feet above sea level and that is where class begins!

Looking at the different types of crystals forming in the snowpack provides information on snow stability and is one part of a snow study pit.
